NO, said film maker Anurag Kashyap, as the popularity is growing for ‘Newton’, which managed to become the official entry for the Oscars in the best foreign language film category from India, ‘Newton’ has been chosen from 26 entries this year by unanimous choice.
Rajlkumar Rao, the National Award winning actor played the lead role in the film and impressed everyone from critics to masses as well by this film, he plays an honest and idealistic government clerk who try to conduct a free and fair election in conflict hit area of Chhattisgarh.
The film also stars Anjali Patil, Pankaj Tripathi and Raghubir Yadav in powerful supporting roles, the team is excited about the entry into Oscar and also for the hugh response from the public in cinema halls, ‘Newton’ is Amit Masurkar’s second extraordinary directorial offering after 2014’s ‘Sulemani Keeda’.
Now the controversy, which too is growing as the popularity of the film is reaching high, allegations are that ‘Newton’ is a copy of a 2001 Iranian movie, ‘Secret Ballot’.
Film maker Anurag Kashyap responded on the news of that the film is a copy, he tweeted, ‘Newton’ is as much a copy of ‘Secret Ballot’ as ‘The Avengers’ is of ‘Watan Ke Rakhwale’
Well, beside all the comments and controversy ‘Newton’ is winning hearts in the Bollywood circle too and everyone including Amitabh Bachchan praising the film and Rajkumar Rao for his excellent performance, Rajkumar Rao has said that he will take some advice from Aamir Khan for promoting his film at Oscars.
